NO CONDEMNATION VIRTUAL BOOK TOUR WITH DR. VIVI MONROE CONGRESS

Book Title: No Condemnation

Genre: Inspirational Fiction

Perfect Paperback: 320 pages

Publisher:Voice of Inspiration Publishing; First edition
(March 13, 2013)

ABOUT THE BOOK

The city of Tobe, a snowball's throw away from Buffalo, NY is known for its frosty climate.... and its drama. Despite the chilling temperatures, love is in bloom for some of its residents while lowering the boom on others. Either way, getting the most out of love and life is largely based on healthy decisions because there are times when, simply put, love isn't always enough.

Young, enterprising Trene' Sloan is successful in business but not so much when it comes to
relationships. Recklessly in love with Chaz Thomas, the philandering father of her children, Trene' continues to dole out love and forgiveness in the face of his unrelenting quest for short-lived affairs with every woman that crosses his path. But will she find the courage to make the hard decision to leave the toxic relationship and reclaim her misplaced faith before tragedy occurs?

No Condemnation (from the Just NO Series) is next level inspirational fiction; heartwarming, emotionally-engaging while keeping things real.

Featuring Author Julie Cosgrove

Welcome Julie to the Spotlight

 About the Author

At thirteen, Julie dedicated her life to Christ.  As a religion major at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, she received the American Bible Society’s Religion Major of the Year Award. She then studied for three semesters in seminary. She is a member of Advanced Writers & Speakers Association, American Christian Fiction Writers, North Texas Christian Writers, American Christian Fiction Writers, DiAnn Mill’s Ripplers Group, The Christians Writers Group, and Christian Writers Fellowship International. A freelance writer and speaker, Julie has published hundreds of web content and articles with secular and Christian themes, led retreats, workshops, and Bible studies, and writes regularly for several Christian websites and publications. In the past three years alone, she has been published in Devozine and Alive Now Magazines published by the Upper Room, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Find Your Happiness to be released October 2011, Good News Daily, The Secret Place, Light from the Word, and has been commissioned to write a month long commentary on Philippians and Colossians for The Journey.

How did you become a Christian writer? When my husband was alive, we moved a lot for his job - so much that I soon became unemployable. We relocated to seven cities during the last ten years of his life. In one week, three people in three states suggested I try writing for a living. I figured that was a God thing because He always has to tell me more than once. I took a quick online freelance course, joined a writers' group, and began to submit articles. Within a few weeks I had contracts. So, I promised God I would tithe my writing day each morning to Him first. He has honored that. I write regularly for two Christian women's websites and have been published in the past three years in two Upper Room magazines, Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Secret Place, Good News Daily and The Journey, amongst others. I am also eking out a living as a freelance writer, author and public speaker even though I am now widowed.

What is your passion? Speaking to Christian women - leading workshops and retreats. All four of my non-fiction books came out of retreats I led. They are -
P.R.A.Y.I.N.G:Bringing Power and Purpose to Your Prayers in which I show how each letter is a form of prayer.

What Can She Tell Us?- A Bible study on the unnamed women in the New Testament.
Song Notes- a collection of devotionals on the Psalms.

Between the Window and the Door, a study which looks at why God places us in the in-between times through both life experiences and Biblical examples.

What is your fiction novel called? Focused. It was released earlier this year.

What is it about? Jen is in middle age maliase. Her parents have passed, her son has flown nest, and her husband, Jeff, is often absent, even when he is in his beloved recliner. Will her new trifocals help her focus on her faith and her fidelity once her newly divorced high school beau resurfaces in her life?

What do you hope this book accomplishes? I read a statistic that claimed if a marriage survives the first seven years, 80% of divorces will occur within a year after the death of a parent or the children leaving home. I wanted to address this, but in a fiction format so people could follow both Jeff and Christina's story. I hope readers will begin to see why a marriage gone stale is worth fighting for. Even if you have a good marriage or are not currently married, it will make you smile, and perhaps cry a bit. It is a heart warming, and at times an honest and humorous, look at real people in real life. So far, the women, and a few men, who have read it says it is a very good, realistic read without being preachy.

Any tips for upcoming authors? No pun intended, but stay focused on what God is calling you to write. Also, be patient in His timing and definition of what will be your success.

Continue to grow in your craft by graciously accepting positive critiques from authors who have been published as well as attending conferences, workshops, and becoming an active member in mentoring groups either online or over someone's dining room table.

If you feel this is your passion and God's calling, do not give up. In the course of writing over the past four years, I lost my husband and lost the use of my right hand. Praise God, through surgery, I can now type with three fingers on that hand again, though often my letters get jumbled up because I cannot feel the keys.

The Spotlight Is On You, Michelle

Q. Michelle tell our readers about yourself?

A. I love music. Compassionate. I’m a great friend, daughter, cousin, girlfriend, hairstylist, poet & thinker. I am a humanitarian. My belief is you owe it to life to give to others. I have a high moral background. I am a dreamer. As long as you have a dream, life should keep you busy. I am a believer that all things are possible. I’m also an artist so I creatively think outside the box. I’m a go-getter so I don’t take no as an option for me. I’m organized to the point that I can’t function in confusion. I can be the life of the party & also like spending time alone. I also love taking naps.

Q. What’s the most important lesson that you’ve learned since being in the game?

A. It’s important to have a great editor.

Q. What was your path towards publication like?

A. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had 2 friends that were writing books who I could call on for help, referrals and advice. So I literally had to learn the steps along the way.  I prayed a lot, developed more patience & had to lean on my own understand through this process. I had bad luck with 2 different editors. I learned that your editor should have a degree in English not Journalism. I ended up having to proofread my own book twice before I submitted it to my publisher because my 2nd editor couldn’t spell or take criticism. But he fell in love with the story, gave a lot of compliments about my writing and gave me advice to write in past tense. I had to figure out that in order to get my book cover the way I dreamt of it, I had to hire a photographer & the models, so I did and my vision came to life.

Q. How do you balance your life as an author with your duties as a business person, employee, parent and/or spouse?

A. I go to bed at a reasonable hour. That allows me to wake up a little earlier than I need to so that I have time to myself. I start my day praying and reflecting and then head to the gym or go for a walk. I take a day off during the week dedicated to writing. I run my business on the other 4 days. Weekends are for church, family, friends and fun and if not, then I write!

Q. What can we expect from you in the future?

A. More books, maybe a movie.

Q. What is your best advice for getting past writer's block?

A.  Don’t end your writing at the end of a chapter. Stop in the middle of the sentence. That gives you a good jump start and get the creative juices flowing on the next time you begin writing.

Q. What was the best writing-related advice you ever received?

A. To just keep writing.

Q. How did you come up with the idea for your book, Right Before My Eyes?

A. I used some past relationships that were either my own or ones that I’ve experienced with others.  I’m a hairstylist, so I hear lots of interesting stories. My creativity just added to them.

Q. What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

A. Developing the characters. They each had to have different personalities. I had to weave many characters into one story and make sure they all had a beginning and an ending.

Q. Did you have to do any special research for your book?

A. Yes. I had to research the California State Prison system.

Q. What’s ahead for your writing?

A. The squeal to this book is as far as I can see right now. But I can also see a movie being produced.

Q. What opportunities have opened up because of your writing?

A. The book has been released for 2 months now and people love the book. I think I have another career now.

Q. Where can readers purchase copies of your books?

A.  Authorhouse.com. Amazon.com, & BarnesandNoble.com, Author website

Featuring Missionary La' Tanyha Boyd

Who is this Woman of Faith?

Missionary Là Tanyha Boyd has a great passion for the up-building of God’s Kingdom. In having a mustard seed of “FAITH” and believing in the promises of God, she stepped out on just that and "Faith ABeliever's Virtual Book Club," along with “Spiritual Food for Thought~Radio" was born. With a mission to empower, equip and edify women in their life journey, she often challenges women to step outside the box and live their dream to continue to reach higher heights and deeper depths within.

To best describe her, she is not only a praying woman, a mother, a teacher and a visionary, but she is also an author, Founder of her own virtual/online book club, Executive Producer and host of her radio talk-show, mentor and an Inspirational speaker, with a heart and fire for God and His people.
Answering the Call to minister, she has been working in the vineyard for over ten years, and is a Licensed Missionary.

What’s on the horizon for Missionary La’ Tanyha?

Currently, Missionary Là Tanyha is penning a book entitled ‘Faith A Believer’s Devotional,’ As a Christian, there are times when you need encouragement and inspiration; especially when you’re dealing with the challenges of life. Faith A Believer’s Devotional is a daily devotional to encourage and inspire you in your walk with Christ; providing inspirational messages such as Walking in Purpose, A Time of Reflection, Confronting Me, Words of Encouragement and many, many, more. These devotions will not only offer daily words of inspiration but promote spiritual growth in the Lord and in your day to day living.

Once Editor-in-Chief for ‘Poetic Expressions Newsletter-PEN,’ Missionary Là Tanyha has also added numerous short stories and poems to her repertoire.

This Woman of Faith and ABeliever of God’s Word(s) mission is not only to inspire individuals to define their purpose, but maximize their full God-given potential. She continues to reach the multitudes and win souls across the world through the airways because Missionary Là Tanyha, “Faith,” knows and understands that God has raised her up for such a time as this.

How was Faith ABeliever’s Virtual Book Club-FAB birthed?

Having an understanding that ministry goes beyond the four walls of church…
In the 21st Century, the church(s) dynamic was rapidly changing, as was technology. The internet and social media/networking became the new outreach for ministry and the up building of God’s kingdom. Unsure if I wanted to use this new outlet of communication, I prayed seeking God’s direction. I did know however, that whatever I did, I wanted it to have a purpose. It was then that God gave me the vision! There-after Faith ABeliever’s Virtual Book Club was born ministering to people across the globe! Not yet realizing the magnitude of this new ministry, God used FAB to reach the multitudes, with our first member being from Kenya, Africa.

What would you say is your connection with these Christian Authors (of today) that you feature?

As a walking Epistles in this journey that we call life, I truly believe that we all have a story to pen, share and be heard. As a writer and author myself, I find that most people don’t realize that writing is not only a gift, but also a ministry. The challenge that we face as authors, is getting the message and word out to the masses. Faith ABeliever’s Virtual Book Club(FAB) is an outlet to bridge the gap in the mission to minister to the unbeliever as well as Christians of all denominations.

What messages come across in our featured Author spots?

Turning the pages and getting to know our featured Christian authors, opens the door for discussions on real life experiences that both the believer and non-believer endure. Most of these topics are translated through the ‘power of the pen’ by these authors transparency, whether it’s fiction or nonfiction. Not only are subject matter such as divorce, racial division, child abuse, rape, domestic violence, etc… discussed, but the tools on how to overcome such dilemmas are given in the natural sense, as well as in the spiritual. This platform allows others to share their testimony, knowledge, wisdom, and experiences in order to Edify, Equip, and Empower someone else in knowing they are not alone. Through such Author chats and book discussions, with God as the orchestrator, and a mustard seed of Faith, someone can be brought into their breakthrough.
